That was the intended date but it may be hard to organize all this in a month.

For the last couple of days I've been dealing with the owners to come up with a neat event for this group. I guess I never realized how expensive that place can get.

Here is some information:

He is giving me a discount of 25% on most things and is not charging us a thing to open early, including the staff that will be required. We will be the only folks in there until 1pm and the only ones racing until we are done. He will run drink specials and I'm trying to get him to throw in the pizzas.

We would need a minimun of 30-36 people to really pull this off and to make it affordable for us and to make it worthwile to Speeds to let us own the building. They are really flexible.

He suggested an endurance race. They are a little more expensive than just buying heats but he's giving me a very fair price. A one hour endurance race for 30-36 people will run us about $41 a person. That gets us into teams of three and each racing 18 minutes that hour. After that we could break for pizzas then go into open track racing for $12.50 a heat (a 30% discount from 3 non-member races, a 20% discount off of member prices) . We could give trophies for the top three treams in endurance then three trophies for the top three fastest laps in open track racing.

To do the endurance race and 3 heats of open track we are looking at about $80 per person.

I think I can talk him into just allowing us to buy 6 open track heats if everyone wants to do that as well. That still runs $75 per person. I don't know if everyone wants to commit that type of money so let me know.
