Default Does anyone have experience with a retainer swap?

So finally I misshifted at the track this weekend . The car runs fine, but I am thinking I should swap the retainers before my next event in two weeks. I would rather wait just in case I mess up, but IDK if I want to risk it. Has anyone done this and would you be willing to supervise me doing this so I don't mess up? I feel comfortable with it, but experience can't replace me reading a DIY.

I did mine a few years ago, the DIY on S2KI is seriously detailed. It was just as it reads. I bought the identical valve spring tool, modified it just as they said.
Stuff the paper towels to not lose any parts. I bought my OEM parts at a online Honda parts place, there are a bunch. I found out my local Honda dealer multiplies the online by 3. So online is the way to go where I am. If you have done a brake job, I think you could handle this. I was very careful and had read the procedure many times, I had white poster stock paper laid out on my table and it looked like I doing surgery, it was fun. I am out side of Mansfield. BTW I did not find any sinking valve stems, all looked good, felt good about getting it done. 2003.
Thanks

I am actually going to be visiting a guy from Lexington on Saturday. He has done it before and is going to help out.

If you will bring them back, When in Lex, you can stop by and I will loan the valve tool and bent wrench. I am in south Mansfield 10 minutes from LEX.
Thanks

Appreciate the offer, but I think he has the VA tool for Hondas, as do I. I can definitely see how using a traditional tool would be super difficult!

Let us know how it goes. And how long the whole process takes. I have a 2000 with 44k miles and have never done it.

Well the guy bailed on me, so I pulled the VC, inspected the retainers (all looked fine), adjusted the valves, and called it good. I will tackle the retainers myself in the off season.
