Default Garage Floor

Hey guys, have any of you sealed your garage floor? I am looking for a good product. I want to seal it with a color not just a clear coat. I have seen pics on our site of fellows with checkered garage floors and different colors. I have seen the commercial for the floor seal that you sprinkle the chips down after application for grip. Anyway, can you guys throw some suggestions my way?
Thanks
Ray

I believe there is an epoxy paint formulated for garage floors. My thought is surface prep is likely very important. Jack Mitea in Elyria has a new building, and it is painted. You could call service and ask what they used. I bet about anything is going to be expensive if done right.

We epoxy sealed (with colored chips sprinkled on after painting) our garage. Two things to do:

Make sure you prep thoroughly and

If there are any loose spots, find a way to seal or patch them first.

The stuff works fine, and sticks to solid floor surfaces, but where it was a little crusty, the paint has come up. Where we patched the floor before painting, the paint stuck wonderfully well. Plan on using more paint than they suggest unless your floor is in good condition. We did two full applications.

I initially thought about this epoxy product, but wondered how it would wear.

Now I am thinking about the squares that lock together, tounge and groove style.

Anyone have long-term feedback on either one?

I saw a post where Modifry discussed a product he's used with good results. He did, however, mention that that product is pretty noxious. As in you'd probably have to use duct tape over the door from the garage to the house and leave the garage door open to the outside. You might want to PM him or search his posts for the name of the product.
