The great race!
The Great Race is running through Columbus on Monday June 26. Dublin Ohio (NW Columbus) is the over night stop for this event.
What is the great race? Imagine 100 classic sportscars running from coast to coast. The entire event takes two weeks and features cars from the 1920s - 1950s that have a racing heritage or set new trends and technology for sportscars and racing. From makes around the world including Mercedes, Auburn, Trimuph, Hudson, Kaiser, Ford, Buick, Cadallic, and Chrysler.
In partnership with the Arthritis Foundation, the show stop in Dublin will feature all of these classic rides on the evening of June 26. The orgnaizers are asking for a select group of modern sportscars to park over the bridge in Dublin to welcome the racers. I have been given five invitations to add five S2000s to the show. All you have to do is shine up your ride and show it off from 5pm to 9pm.
Ray and myself are on board and I need three more volunteers. You will be mailed a welcome packet with all you need to know. There is a $25 contribution for the event, all of which goes to the Arthritis Foundation. I will pay the fee for you guys, OR if you pay your own, I will put up the money for the club to directly sponsor one of the classic racers.
Time is very freaking short!! Your registrations must be received prior to June 1. I will fill them out and mail it, just let me know who is in.
This is a cool night with food, beer, concert, beer, cars, and of course beer.
