Help picking a camera
Hey guys, I am in the market for a new digital camera. I do not want to spend over $500. I plan on getting a nice quality camera with a pretty good zoom. I am going to buy a cheaper camera that fits in your pocket for convienence so this camera can be a larger size if need be. So when making your suggestion, don't worry about size.
Thanks

I've always been a big fan of Canon and Nikon. We have an Olympus at work, and well, its been replaced 2 times in the 3 months we have had it. Kodak seems a little too awkward to get pictures off of the camera.
My best advice, is to get a decent list of cameras together, go to Best Buy, or wherever, and tell them you want to take some pictures, print off a few, and look at a few on the computer to really see what the cameras do. This is of course is opposite of looking at the pictures on the crappy built in screens which never have enough resolution to properly display a picture.
Remember this is your camera, not somebody elses at the end of the day.

I'll show you my new camera on Saturday - it's pretty impressive, and has some really cool features which are helpful when photographing a moving vehicle.
I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT, but its selling for like $700 right now. One nice thing is that its a SLR, which means the eyepiece shows you what the lens sees. If I don't forget it you can play with it this weekend.
another camera that you might want to see this weekend is Melissa's Nikon D50..I don't remember exactly what she paid for it, but it might be more than $500...
it's a great DSLR with a lot of great features...... I've seen a lot of pictures taken with it, and they have come out amazing...
