Default How is Mid-Ohio as a track?

Hi all,

I'm trying to plan my summer and some track days. I have family in Ohio, and am considering a visit out there if I can time it with an HPDE event at Mid-Ohio.

Has anyone been to a NASA, SCCA or other HPDE event at Mid-Ohio, and if so, what were your impressions. There are a few days scheduled with NASA, but was looking for some feedback before I commit.

Thanks!

MrClean and I are NASA member. We've been to their Mid Ohio event and other HPDE events at Mid Ohio. Several members here including Scott Evil and a few others have tracked at Mid Ohio as well.

You will find the track challenging and rewarding. Plenty of elevation changes and off camber turns will keep you on your toes the whole time.

I love it out there. If you show up for one of the scheduled NASA event then I will most definitely see you out there. BTW, check out the TracQuest.com They have HPDE event scheduled at Mid Ohio as well and bang for the buck, you will get more track time with them than NASA since NASA HPDE events inlcudes race qualifying runs and actual races.

Great! Thanks guys. I'll see how the schedule looks for the other company too. I did notice that the NASA site had quite a bit of activities on a normal 2 or 3 day period and thought it was odd.

When I decide, I'll let you know in case your interested.

Does TracQuest do in car instruction as well, or just laps. NM - I went to their site. If I read this correctly (and perhaps it's changed with the change to CMS for East Coast Operations), it looks like:

$50 annual membership with CMS.
$50 for an instructor to ride along
200-350 (specifically for this event wasn't listed yet.) / day (to me, thats the normal fee, which includes instructor) and nowhere else have I been required to pay for a membership. (180 mins/day)

NASA for 1 day is 150, 310 for 2 days. (80 mins/day)

TracQuest do have instructors as well.
you will find its event much more free in structure than NASA.

Either events are top notch. I like them both

Although I like TracQuest since I am used to Mid Ohio track. Meaning you get alot more track time for your money I think
