I’m back
I bought a lowish miles (36k) 2004 Suzuka three weeks ago in NC and had it shipped to me here in the Cleveland area. It’s not perfect cosmetically as it appears it was an “outside” car in a coastal area, but it’s mechanically sound, underbody was not rusted, PPI revealed no surprise issues, and price was halfway decent for the market. Like everybody else buying nowadays, I wish I’d bought two years ago and saved $10k.
I traded my 2002 Sebring Silver for my NA2 NSX over six years ago. That was the single biggest car error I’ve ever made as while I love my NSX, I have missed having a S2000. Think of it this way, S2000 is a young pup, always full of energy, and the NSX is laid back and mature. Sold my S at 33k miles. Yes, I was dumb. This time, I bought an early AP2 to satisfy my “something different” itch.
This time, I plan a modest build with white wheels, Tanabe (or whatever they call themselves now) Medalion Touring exhaust which I had on my last S, and maybe a Forbidden Mugen rep top. Kind of a “stock plus” build. Need new tires first as the car came with 7-year-old all-season tires. We all know what a stock Suzuka looks like, so I didn’t attach a billion pics, just a couple from today as I had to pull it out for an out of state VIN check and paying sales tax. Few more pics in the S2000 Talk section as in addition to the PPI, I asked there for advice on the appearance of the underside.
Glad to be back!
