I know that from time to time the IAA takes a beating on this board, however, here's a good opportunity to show the good side of the IAA. A couple guys up in New England have started this little challenge for Hurricane Relief. The Challenge will go until next Friday. I would like to challenge everyone in the IAA to make a donation to this great cause. The information can be found here.
First off, there is not a person with big enough marbles to give me a beating on this board. More importantly, I think this is a good thing you guys are doing. Most of us are watching the funds so we can go to FC05, but I think we can shake out a few bucks here ane there to help out. I know I have given to my company's fund already, but if I keep working Friday nights at the bar ...maybe I can spare a few more bucks.

I think our CO should be the pivot man for this. Gary, get your accounting handbook out and start collecting money.
Without a doubt, the idea of giving is a good one. I think the goal of $1000 among the Ohio Community / IAA is a good one too. However, why create a middle man to spend time with logistics and accounting when all of this is already done for us via the Red Cross Website?
Simply go to the Red Cross Donations Website and donate to your comfort level. IMO, what is important here is that we give and do it ASAP. With that goal in mind, let us donate what we can right away and if you feel the need to announce it, post it here.

EDIT: In trying to respond as CO to what the community wanted, I started this response. After receiving feedback of a different view, I took out the dollar amounts to avoid creating an undesired situation. We all support the efforts in our own ways. Please donate what you are comfortable doing.
Good thinking GB. I think the most important thing here is to donate. Most of us have already. I am actually putting together a team here at work to go down and help out in a few weeks. We are just waiting on things to calm down a bit. We have over 300 employees in the region. I sent some money down as did Jennifer through the Red Cross. Today I donated some of my vacation hours to help out. Sam sent $50 to the Humane Society too.
He realy did.
