Default Insurance Rates Out of Control...

Insurance on my S is $280 per month. That is just totally insane. It is the only car on my policy, and my driving record isn't exactly spotless, but I mean come on. That is almost as much as my car payment.

I guess I just have to work, work, work and then I can get into my baby and play, and forget how much she costs.

Does anyone else pay out the wazoo to insure their car?

Depends on your age too. And if you're single. As soon as you turn 25 and/or get hitched, it will drop like a rock.

be glad you dont live in NJ, we have the worse rates in the country.

i am paying for my S2000 and 99 Si, $1100.00 every 2 months. i dont have a clean record, few points, but still its friggin sick!

when the S2000 was my only car i was paying $1500.00 every 2 months, once i added the Si it went down thank god!

When I first got my S2000, I was under 25 and it was the only car on my policy. I was paying around $150 a month. I'm now getting a slight multi-car discount and after turning 25, it dropped to around $100 a month for the S2000 and about $50 a month for the Accord.

*** Edit ***
That is for 100/300/100 coverage and a $500 deduct.

do some price shopping. i forgot the web site, but insweb or someone like that does comparison rates. so does progressive, i think.

btw... amounts everyone is paying is nice to list, but it can vary significantly based on the amount of coverage.

PS. if it's any consolation, i know a guy with an older Z that pays $2800 every 6 months. for state minimum.

2800.00 every 6 months for an older z thats horriable!

i have full coverage/ $1000.00 dedeuctible. the higher the deductible the lower the price was, at one point i had the ded. at $1500.00 thank god nothing happened in that time frame!

That' s pretty high. I run $1496/year for the S2000 & a 1990 Civic hatch. I'm 26 & single with a clean driving record. $250 physical damage deductibles on the S2000 and liability only on the hatchback.
