Many of these posts are quite old at this point. Looking for an alignment shop that knows what they are doing and you would take your S2K to in the Columbus area.

Thanks

Default Wheel Refinishing - greater Cincinnati area

I recommend the WHEEL DOCTOR in Cincinnati for refinishing your wheels. I used them last April (2024) - where they totally stripped my 4 2005, AP2 wheels and powder coated them in a finish I selected. To date, I am still impressed with the high quality and finish. I had also dropped off 4 brand new tires the night before, which they mounted the newly refinished wheels onto and back on my car, which I had left with them, for the day.

I'd like to give a shout out to Japanese Automotive in Hilliard (located in Old Hilliard one block off Main Street). I took my S2k there recently for some brake work and they did a fantastic job. I had purchased new rotors, calipers, and brake lines with the intention of installing them all myself. When life got in the way, Japanese Auto was more than willing to take my parts and do the install for me at very affordable labor rates. (Note this wasn't a "clean up my mess" situation -- I hadn't started the work). No surprises, no extra charges, no upselling of more "must do" work. They just did what I asked for at the price they promised.

Even though they don't have tire mounting equipment in house, they were also willing to take my wheels down the street and work with a nearby tire shop to swap my tires onto new wheels. That was a huge convenience for me and they didn't charge me anything other than passing through the minimal mounting & balancing charges from the tire shop. (Watch the classifieds if you're interested in my old AP2 V2 wheels)

The icing on the cake - when the weather turned nasty while my car was in their shop they OFFERED to keep my S2k indoors for two days until the snow melted off the roads.

I couldn't be happier with these guys.
I'll give a second (more recent) recommendation for Japanese Automotive in Hilliard. Just moved to the Columbus area and needed some basic stuff done being a bit busy right now. They gave it a full inspection for free since I was a new customer and highlighted some non-urgent things that I've known about but no other shops seemed to notice, even when I asked. They were very thorough, explained everything and happily answered all of my picky questions.

I'm looking for a reputable mechanic to replace the clutch in my 2006 S2k track car. I'm in NE Ohio and my prior mechanic decided to retire. Work can be done in shop or here at home. I have the car on a lift and in the garage. Any leads would be appreciated.
