My S is ready to be picked up now. One of the valves was a start away from dropping into the motor. All new valves, springs, retainers and keepers. Talk about being lucky. Here are some picks before the head came off.

Also, if anyone can give me a lift up the Cleveland to pick it up, I would be in your debt.

That does not look good. Another couple of miles and the valve would have droppped into the motor and cost me a lot more than just having the head rebuilt. Just as an FYI before I left Columbus to go to Cleveland and drop off the car, all the valve stems were at the proper height. It dropped that far after 150 miles and the miles back from fall colors.
