Default Need a new battery MY 2002

Hey guys, my 2002 Vortech SC'ed battery is finally dead from the original battery. I just wanted some advise of what other's are using on their car. I am sure i can just replace with a standard OEM but didn't know if there was a better performing battery that might last longer. I had it tested before winter at Marysville Honda and needed one then but found no point since it's sitting all winter anyways.... I'm happy with the OEM last more than 5 years but figured I would get some input since car is in garage for cold weather anyways. Thanks guys, let me know type or part number and price if u know it. Thanks guys! James

PS - Can't wait for the warm weather and the trips coming up

if you don't drive the car in the winter do a yellow top. Otherwise kinetic makes a beautiful battery that's amazing. www.kinetikaudio.com

Personally, i like Interstate batteries. If my wallet was deeper, i'd buy an Optima. Just my $.02

A wet cell battery is a wet cell battery. Unless you go jell, just go oem. But you can't get the panasonic that is there know. The batteries that I swear by are Delco and the DieHard.

The new Honda OEM batteries are very good. There is coverage for 100 months and in most applications the CCA is higher. The batteries are made (and delivered) by Interstate for Honda to their specs.

Optima isn't what it used to be. Mine had a bad cell after 3 years. I bought a Diehard.

Hard to say. In the summer of '06 the battery died in my '94 Integra. That made sense to me, since batteries usually get replaced about every 6 years. Much to my dismay, I removed the battery and found it was the 12 year-old OEM.

However, I generally replace them at around 6 years.
