Aren't those jammers like Snake-Oil?
I'm not following you? I knew someone who had one on his Supra and he never got a ticket.....lasar jammers a legal, but radar jammers are not.

I think Gary had one once and said it was useless.

I googled it about 2 years ago and found some discouraging stuff. Also, it is much lesss scientific, but why haven't these things become as commonplace as V1s?

The reason any radar detector doesn't work all the time is that cops are smart, contrary to popular opinion. The CB saved me numerous times because the truckers would say where a cop was sitting, so I would slow down, come over a crest, and sure enough, he was there. Radar detector ever go off? Nope, because he had his radar off, and would only shoot people he knew were speeding. In that case, you have no chance, no matter what equipment you have.

You are so right! As for the title of the thread, I have been using a Cobra 75 WX ST for some time. Everything in the handset with the connection under the seat.

As for jammers, they are a pain in the arse for those of us with detectors. All those false warnings and you still can't detect The Bear in the Air!

Old thread, but I have a blinder x-treme and I haven't gotten a laser ticket since. It has activated a few times and the officer has never pulled me over despite my speed. While I'm sure many of these things are snake oil, this particular one works.

The one I tested was "Rocky Mountain Rader."

The company claimed to protect you from radar guns by somehow affecting the speed that displays on the radar device.

I did several different trials with a friend of mine who is a police officer. None of the approaches we tried worked. Every single instance my friend was able to detect my speed with no errors or false signals.

I mailed the detector back and asked for my money back. The company side stepped my evaluation comments and request for a refund for months. Finally, I sold the detector to someone else for $45 (retail: $250). It worked as a detector, but did nothing to block/change/affect the police radar readings.

As for the one Tim is talking about, I know nothing about it.
