After some discussion with Carmen (OhioRacer), we both feel it would be appropriate to merge the two Ohio forums since there does not seem to be adequate participation in either forum to keep them separated.

I am hoping this will bring our groups together more than ever and help us to encourage participation of members statewide as we can more easily hear about what is going on in each other's backyards.

Thoughts, questions, concerns? Post them here! If there are no objections, we will go ahead with this.

Thanks,
Joe

I posted on the NE Ohio thread on this, but in short: I wouldn't oppose such a merger (you are all a great bunch!) but I'm not all for it, either. I posted some reasons on the other thread.

We share the Central Ohio (Columbus) forum with Cinci already because those guys didn't have anywhere to post. It's never been a problem and they've always been welcome. I wouldn't care if we moved to one "Ohio" Forum.

Doesn't matter to me. Joe will just have to make everyone happy with a new logo

Haha, well, the NEO guys were wanting a logo for them anyway and we were wanting another one for Central Ohio that actually said Central Ohio, not just Ohio. I've been kinda holding off on that, mostly because I allegedly insulted my graphic designer's friend thereby creating a minor incident which quickly became a major incident when I declined the opportunity to accept full blame. I have since been cleaning up the ensuing drama.

To quote that little kid from the movie Say Anything: "Bitches, man."

And to get back on topic (sorry), I do not see any downside to combining forums. Local focused posts can just be named with the city or area of the state at the beginning of the title. The upside is that statewide events would not have to be reposted in two separate Ohio forums and outsiders and newcomers can find all of the Ohio group more easily.

To those who have posted, thank you! For anyone else, don't be afraid to let us know what you are thinking! We have had two forums for a while now and Carmen and I have nothing to gain or lose personally should this change or remain the same.

Thanks,
Joe

Except that we will have to split our enormous s2ki salary in two.

Sounds like a good idea to me. When do you think this will happen? Just curious.
