There's a great event happening on Saturday 6/16 in Olmsted Township. The second annual SYLVANIA Mid-Central Area sponsored "Race for a Wish" Go-Cart Relay Race for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana ~ Northeast Ohio Region.

We have an opportunity to form some four person teams, spend three hours participating in the Go-Cart driving event, and raise money to send a local ten year old girl with a brain tumor to Walt Disney World with her family. Talk about a "win-win"!





The event is Saturday June 16th at Swings 'n Things in Olmsted Township. That is two miles south of I-480 on Sterns Road, one exit past Great Northern Blvd. It starts at 8:30 am, runs 'til noon, with lunch and awards afterwards.

They are looking for twenty-three, four person teams to run Go-cart relays. The buy in is $200/team, with each team being responsible for obtaining its own pledges/donations.

I am hoping that we could put together a couple of teams at least, help a great organization, and have a blast while doing it!

Personally, I jumped right in and started talking to my customers about it, and in three days, collected over $200, with pledges of at least another $100 for next week. It's easy to get the pledges, as nearly everyone is familiar with the fine work that Make-A-Wish does.

So as it stands, I'm in a position to front the money for our first team, and anyone who is interested could just kick in their $50, and get started.

I have all of the necessary forms on PDF files that I can forward to you through e-mail, so please please let me know who's in.

We do need to commit ASAP since space is limited to the twenty-three teams, and as of Tuesday, fifteen teams had already registered.

Also, as an aside, one of my buddies with the Corvette forum has asked me to forward the info to him. Might be kind of fun to have a rival group to compete against, if that works out. Can you say "side bets anyone?"

Cool. It will be interesting watching Hefe drive a cart with my foot in his ass.

 

I'd be careful about aggravating him too much. After all, he does have a certain size (or lack thereof) advantage on us.
