Roush Honda
I took my ride in today for it's 22,000 mile service( eventhough I have 13,000 miles on her) which is a requirement with Roush when you lease the car. I think it's called "The Honda plan". Anyway, up until today I have had a wonderful experience with Roush. They are an employee owned dealer and their customer service has been great. I had an appointment to drop the car off at 11am. When I pulled up, there was a car in front of me and to the right of me (2 driveways). After the car next to me pulled up they shut the door and did not wave me in or even acknowledge me. After sitting in my car for 10 minutes someone finally leaned over the desk inside the garage and waved me in. In the past, someone has always ackowledge you and taken care of you quickly. Several times they have walked out side and opened my door and starting taking care of me before even taking my car in. Not today, these guys were not busy and they were pretty much jerking around. So, i shook it off and left. I gave them a break figuring they were the weekend crew or something.
When I came back to pick the car up, I walked into the service area and stood there for 5 minutes while 2 teens and some Amazon woman ( supervisor?) were jaw jacking. One kid was taking down stuff since they were closing in 30 minutes. After 5 minutes of standing there with my thumb up my ass, the Amazon woman asked if she could help me. i told her i was here to pick up my car. At this time, the 3 of them pointed toward the cashier. In the past, I have been asked my name, someone gets my paperwork, goes over it with me, and then I pay for my service. I walked over to the cashier to see "Brittany Spears" who had the personality of a tree. Then, Amazon woman asks me my name and asks me what I had done to my car? I said "maintainance"? At this point, she goes over my paperwork with me (which a 8 year can do). She tells me "we rotated your tires" checked your brakes blah blah blh. (And I checked before I left, they did not rotate the tires) This dumbass did'nt even know you don't rotate them. She asked Britaany for the "hardcopy" and Brittany said she did not have it. Soooooo, Amazon tells me " the brakes and stuff were fine". Very technical person.
I know you guys might think I am being a hard ass, but I do not like to think about a bunch of teenagers with some 38 year old BIGFOOT chick handling my car. I also wonder why it costs $121 to check brakes, tires, and change the fn oil! I will never schedule another appointment on a weekend. There seem to be a lack of an adult or at least an adult with a personallity on site. I am big on customer service, I don't want my ass kissed but I am the customer. I do not think I will deal with Roush after today. If I buy the car next year (which I probably will) I will go to Ganley for service and such. It realy aggravates me because my wife and I have probably referred 15 people to Roush for their car needs. I know it was the weekend, I know they are young, I know they were closing in 30 minutes. I just think they could do a little better on explaining to me what work was done to my blue baby.
Bitching complete,

Well, I don't know about you, but I'd sure march back in there on Monday and ask the service manager about the $121 charge. I got really bent out of shape when Sears did a similiar thing to me. I think they still remember me and that was two years ago.

I expect my dealer does all that except for the steering gear box and the brakes each time I'm in for general service and he charges me under $30 including the oil and filter.
I have 21,800 miles on Paco Belle and I'm going in for service in a week or two. We'll see.

All that inspection crap is the standard stuff they claim they do. I have always suspected that 99% of dealers don't do any of it. They just take your car around back, change the oil, and then let it sit for another 45 minutes and charge you for that BS.
My only advice is to find out if you can't take the car to an independant shop for your standard maintenance. I don't think they can legally deny you the right to have that work done anywhere you want. I can recommend a decent shop that one of my guys at work has been using for work on his Honda's for years. And Rich (Ubetit) also has a mechanic he can recommend if you are interested.

But then what do you give Honda if you go in for warranty work on a broken engine and they ask for proof that the oil has been changed? Video tape?

At any rate, I'm not about to swap Honda dealers with you.
