This will be my 4th trip to Route 26. The first two years I had no clue where I was the whole time, I was just following the leader. Last year I decided to stick around after everyone had already gone home. I wanted to drive Rt. 26 by myself at my own pace, so I could get to know the road and the area for future trips. I vaguely remember how to get to 26 from Salt Fork...but I remember it was pretty easy. I'm sure I'll remember as soon as I look at a map. I may even have one of the old marked maps from one of the previous years. So I will look into that right now...

Did you go 2 years ago? That was the only time i have went and don't remember seeing another white car that year. Shame that no one else is going. Or maybe they are doing a drive and not publicizing it.

From Salt Fork to the top of Rt 26: (One suggestion)

0.0 At the entrance/exit to Salt Fork
0.0 Turn left onto US 22
6.6 Turn right onto Batesville Road
12.6 Turn left onto I-70
27.2 Exit 208 - Rt. 149
27.5 Turn left onto Rt 149
28.2 Left onto US 40
29.0 Left onto Rt. 26

(Mileages are approximate)

Thanks for the directions. Sorry, I've been really busy this week. I did find the maps & directions handed out from a couple years ago, and made copies of them for you. 2008 was the year I missed, someone rear ended me right before the trip. Yeah it is a shame that nobody else is wants to go this year. I think you're spot on about not publicizing it.

This may or may not work with my schedule. Still hoping to make it even without the big crowd we usually get.

If I do it won't be an overnight trip with the Hampton, just a very long day.
