This will be a series of editorials about my favorite little drive,Ohio SR315. As already stated in an earlier post this once gem was previously called and "Ohio Scenic Byway",but has turned into what Scotty calls it an SUV, Dumptruck litter chicane.
Sr315 in Ohio mirrors the Scioto River as it snakes it's way thru Delaware county and on into Franklin county here in Central Ohio. The Franklin county auditor says it begins on the southern point at I-70 and that is true. However my "run" terminates usually just north of I-270 on the northern outerbelt. My run normally begins where SR315 intersects SR23 just south of the Delaware city line. Sunday mornings are usually the best time to get "clean run" on SR315,as there very light traffic and there are no dump trucks to "pick off". 48 turns in 9.8 miles, not exactly the Dragon,so I'll call it Dragon-san
Eventually I will name all the significant turns on Old 315; just like the famous race track around the world name their corners .
This morning awoke sunny and bright,no clouds and just enough "nip" in the air to warrant a "hoodie".As I pulled out of my drive and southbound on to RT23 I saw to my horror that there were barrels and flashing lights at the entrance to my "friend".
Well as it turns out the realignment of the 315-23 interchange was about to begin ....Why would they start a project like this at the end of October????????
Luckily the entrance was open and with warm tires and warm fluids I began my spirited run down the old girl. What a treat it was because at the Bunty Station, Hiatts and Home Road intersections there were signs on the northbound lanes saying road closed.
PERFECT this as it turns out allowed an even lighter than normal traffic flow in the on coming lane :thump: .
The southbound leg was clear and perfect no issues I even cruised thru the light at Powell;which is usually a miracle in it's self. The only issue on the northbound return leg of my run was one car that was easily passed just north of Orange Rd. and a group of deer crossing the road just south of Home Rd.
I've decided to name my most favorite turn on 315 "Senna". It's a lil left ...right combo if you are south bound on 315 about .2 mile south of Home road. This then leads to another left ...right combo that rise first and the falls a way going into the right hander. I'm going to call that combo "Corkscrew"
CORKSCREW
BTW if you are northbound on 315,it begins at the traffic light that intersects 315 and Clubview road. Clubview is somehow appropriate for a finish line and as luck would have it The Rusty Bucket is right there in the shopping area to the east

I was going to mention this. I always get on the gas at that area just south of Home road.
