Default Transmission Jack?

Does anyone know where I might find a high lift, moderate quality, transmission jack? The floor standing, under a vehicle lift model, is what I am in need of. Also an under lift style jack stand with a lift pedal and a reach of at least 84" would be helpful. Thanks in advance for any leads. I'm hoping to find one fairly local so shipping won't be required. The shipping on a 150 lb transmissioni jack is a pretty good portion of the jack's value and even more so for the tall jack stands.

Not sure about the jack stands but harbor freight has tranny jacks.

Thanks for the referal. I tried to go inspect the quality of the Harbor Freight pieces, but they dont carry them in store any longer. They are catalog order only. Given the variation I've seen in their tools, I'm not sure I want to pay shipping on such heavy items when the quality is suspect.

While I don't know if they're 84" inches, I used a Harbor freight trans jack a few times. It gets the job done and functioned properly.

While I agree that some of their tools are suspect, I have been impressed with all of their "shop" type tools that I've used. I plan on buying a tranny jack from them when/if I need it.

It might be worth while to call around to a few different stores. I know for a fact that the store in Beechmont (near Cincinnati) carries them in stock.

Actually I just checked their website and the high-lift one is a different model than the one I've seen in stores - so that one might be special order like you said.

Ended up at Greg Smith Equipment in Indianapolis for a 2 stage, air over hydro, lift that was in their scratch & dent area for $220. This was usually a $499 jack, and the only thing wrong with this one is it was painted the wrong color by the supplier. They had tall jack stands for $59 each as well. This was the same place I got the 2 post lift from last year. I didn't know they had a "Scratch & Dent" section. Some stuff is listed Online, but turnover is very quick, so to find out what's really available at a big discount, I'd call ahead.
