why do people put cheap ass tires nice wheels?
I dont get this, People go out and spend thousands of dollars on a nice set of volk, work, etc wheels and put some garbage hankook or es100's on the wheels. I think the tires are a huge factor for the car because its the only part that touches the pavement. Can anyone explain this?
because probably 90% of ppl who get such nice wheels don't track or race their car and just let them sit at car shows and meets....
so why get stickies or quality summer tires when chances are they're not doing togue or time attack.

Im that guy tho, Im doing cheaper wheels than most (Enkei Rpf1s) and prolly some BFG KDW2s or maybe even throw some Es100's on there. Personally the only abuse my car ever sees is highway pulls or dyno runs, Im not going to take my car to the track ever, My car this summer will go to the meets and be a camera car... thats about it- Im not trying to get to crazy.

You could also counter this with a thread about people who put $8-$900 worth of rubber on their car but never even "sniff" the potential of those tires. IMO, that is a dumbass. I mean, driving 10/10ths on your way home for work requires some serious rubber.
To each his own.
You run what you like and what you can afford. I put Kumhos on my LMs. Some people consider those cheap.

Ray, your khumos does not = cheap tires. You have what tirerack would call a max performance tire. It may not be a pilot sport, but it's still a helleva a tire.
I am thinking more along the lines of the cheap falkens and daytonas, which are not max performance tires. Huge difference, IMO.
