Default brakes :(

I posted some of this in the under the hood forum when i was in the middle of the ordeal.. I thought i would share it with you guys. I also have a couple questions to.

So i thought since their was a track day coming up i should check my brake pads. This was at 12 pm today. I figure 5 mins and i will have it all done. So i loosen the lugs on one wheel and jack the car up take the wheel off take the pads off and decide i should do the other side. Im being kinda lazy so i just have some one set in the car put on the brakes and loosen the lugs instead of dropping it back down. Well i had the caliper on the other side off and the piston got pushed out. I put the drivers side back together get to the passengers and try to put it back together and it wont go thats when i noticed the piston sticking out to far. I called a friend to go buy me a c-clamp he brings it over and we try to depress the piston.. It become crooked some how an we tighter the clamp until it breaks .. We take it back get a new one.. Thats when i decided to take the whole thing apart and see whats going on. ( due to the advice from the under the hood guys thanks )

So i disassemble and their is a decent sized bur on the bottom of the piston probably from the clamp pressure.. I grinded it off smooth and every thing fit back together. Bled the passengers side and it all works now.. This took me 7.5hrs..

Now thanks to trying to check the pads i need a new piston. So my question is do you think i should order a piston online, go try and get one from the dealer ship, buy an entire caliper from some one on here, or take it to honda have them fix it. Money is an issue though..

cliffs.

tried to check pads
broke break piston
need pads and piston

Moral.
dont be lazy.

I'd say do some price research and go with whatever is cheapest! That is if you're comfortable doing the work yourself.

If not... find a friend who can or go the expensive route and take it to Honda

You missed the bit about having to rotate the piston to retract it on the rear brake?
I wasnt even working on the hard ones on the back lol.. I was working on the fronts which are normal straight forward lol.. When the breaks were pushed down it pushed the piston out to far and it got crooked..

I saw you were working on the front ones when I read the "Under the Hood" post. Looks like I deleted my post after your latest comment

From what I've heard from jmoore2k, yes. At least the AP2 pads are better than AP1.
