Thanks, Janet for the heads up that the DBRX 2010 will be the last Fall S2000 meet for the dragon. The DBRX along with the Homecoming event in CA and the St Louis groups event gives us 3 choices, too bad they are all on same weekend. I signed up for the DBRX today, PM me for travel plans. Any other takers?
This week’s video features an in-car view of the infamous Dragon. As you can tell from the video both the driver and passenger seem to be enjoying the drive. Pay close heed to what the passenger is saying – at one point he feels like the S2000 is floating on air as it rides the Dragon. Do you agree with him or not?
Unfortunately we did not arrive in time to drive the dragon before dark. We came in on the Cherohalo Skyway and I think Mike is quite pleased at the experience so far.
Back home from attending the DBRX. It was a 12 day, 4000+ mile roadtrip. Approximately 2,000 of those miles were twisties in NC, VA, W VA, Kentucky, and of course AR. I am exhausted!
I don't have very many pics to share. Too busy driving during the DBRX. The second half of my trip, my sister flew out to Asheville to join me. Those pics don't need to be shared!
The mandatory typical pic
Murfreesboro, TN - felt vibration, all 4 tires were out of balance. Mike decided he needed a little more tread for the event so he picked up a new set and had them broke in before we arrived in NC.
National Cemetery at the site of a Civil War Battle - Stone River - 6,000 buried
Mike's car turn 100,000 miles
Recognize Matt, he attends our BMT's and hopes to make this years also.
Magnet badges. Unique logo for each DBR and WTD events.
one guys driving shoes. And we talk about what Julie wears?
This is a short video of our turnaround. We were near the end of the dragon where a cop had a porche group pulled over giving them all tickets. What you can't see is the smile on the S2K drivers. They knew the return trip of those 318 curves was going to be copless.
This was the final year for the Dragon Ball Run but the Wake The Dragon spring meet will continue. If anybody from our area chooses to go, I would do it again. It's great people, driving great cars on some great roads.
