I would go with either kenwood or alpine. I have the kdc-689X and david has 889X. These are pretty good. I would also check on ebay thats where we got ours. Alpine has 9843 or 9851 are pretty decent. And if you need help installing we can help since david and me did it our self.

Are you concerned about sound quality? Or are you just looking to upgrade the headunit so that you can have other options like mp3 compatability and xm satelite radio? If it were me I would get Kenwood KDC-X889 with 24 bit burr brown dac's, and internal amp switch, mp3, music keg, and ipod ready, Bass MAnagement system (with compatible kenwood amps). But then again I am picky like that. I would definately consider a head unit that DOES NOT have a flip face on start up. Get one that is stationary like the one I listed above.....

 

Oh and definatley Ebay it baby. Crutchfield is overpriced, and your headunit is morelikely to get struck by lightning than to malfunction, so that to me is not worth the price you pay for a "warranty"

Don't get the one you posted because it was refurbished and you don't want that. Here is the link that is in a new condition. Yes it is that good for the money. If you are getting a headunit you might as well get a decent one for a little more.
