Default Problem

Im going to start by saying i drive a 2002 with 24xxx miles and its completely stock.
i was driving down the street and my left fender liner being extremely loose got cought between the tire and the road and came completely off, exposing the whole left front side of the car. I noticed that the car started to make a tapping or clicking sound(very rapid clicks) but this was seldom. The car starts to make the noise more when its cold and especially when i vtec in the cold, which i dont think should be too much of a problem. I took the car to Four Star and they took it for a spin and the car didnt make the sound til we got back and the sound only happened when we first pulled back in. We took it for another spin with yet another technician and no sound. They said it was probably a relay on the air pump which happens to be located on the front left side of the car just behind the bumper. Well last night i was rolling around town with justin and i vtec'd a little bit and it was fine then i did it again and the clicking was so loud i couldnt hear his exhaust(invidia for those who dont know)while parked right next to him. i then proceeded to accelerate from a stop and went to about 6.5k and it hesitated a bit then kinda picked up and went then hesitated again so i stopped vtec'ing. i dont know why its doing it, or what caused it. IF ANYONE KNOWS WHY OR HOW I HAVE THIS PROBLEM PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

but wouldn't it be out of warranty by now? Unless you have an extended warranty thru Honda, your best bet would be to let Four Star have it for a day so they can try to duplicate the probrem. Or, if you'd rather have Honda diagnose it, take it up to Mike or Chuck at Joe Marina.

Who is it thru, and did you have it transferred over from the previous owner? If it's still active, you can take it to either place, but still you may have to leave it with them for a while so they can diagnose it.

sounds like this could be your problem, especially since you described a problem with your wheel liner ... under the hood link

But this ticks even when hes sitting still? and when he Rev's the engine it ticks faster. It sounded like it was coming from the engine itself. Almost sounded like the heatshield over the headers was rattling but it wasn't.
