Default Salvage title...

So I found an '01 for sale in my area.

GPW

Red/Blk

50k

Salvage title.

Came from TX.

Asking $11,500

After closer examination, it looks like the car was damaged in the driver's rear quarter panel, and the person who fixed it didn't know too well how to do it. Seams don't quite match up, gas door popper was never replaced, so you can open the gas door from outside the car and it has no gas cap, the rear bumper was not refastened at the bottom of the car, and a used '00 tail light assembly with corner fade was used to replace the original. The car has the optional spoiler, and an aftermarket urethane front lip, which doesn't quite fit like it should, and the paint is just starting to go on the lip as well, so it will need to be refinished. Lastly, it has a brand new '02-'03 black top with glass back window.

Overall, the car looks pretty good, but I couldn't see the seats or interior due to the tinted windows, and I don't know how it drives. From 10 feet away it's a jewel.

In conclusion, I think $8500 is a good offer for what I've seen so far, but does anyone else have an opinion as to what it could be worth. Any body people in the house?

I think as long as the frame (from past experiences) doesn't have any damage and your willing to fix the cosmetic damages u should be fine.

i think $8500 if a good offer since its been wrecked.

(those are my two cents. )

be sure to check the frame. My totalled S looked fair - okay, some nasty cosmetic damage - but was totalled due to the bent frame. A performance car will never drive properly after the frame has been bent.

... for two more cents.

So, wait. You're selling your BB one because it got run into. I get that. But you're buying a NFR one that's been wrecked to replace it? I don't get that. Aside from the color change [if you prefer red over black], i just see it as going down hill. At least a hill. Maybe a mountain. You know EXACTLY what happened to your car and don't know anything [as of yet] about the NFR S2000.
If the damage was enough to replace the taillight, the quarter panel, the gas door/cap, AND the roof, I don't think I'd even trust my mechanic if he told me that there was no damage to the frame. I'm also a bit OCD about certain things. I know I don't know your exact situation, though. And if I'm wrong about anything I'm assuming, sorry.
Whatever happens, good luck with your decision.

I think he means he's thinking about getting a GPW, not NFR (red/black interior). Good point tho about knowing its history, Casey.

Actually I'm talking about putting my Berlina car in the garage after it's fixed, since I'm picking it up tomorrow, and buying the GPW for a daily.

I love the S2000.

Just drove it last night...49,850 on the clock...driver's seat a little worn, injen cold air, kinda dirty under the hood, but eh. Top is brand new with glass rear window, which is NIIIIICE to have. Never realized just how nice that is. Turns out I went to high school with the guy, his name's Jimmy. I asked him why he's selling it and he told me that he just had a kid, so it's gotta go and he bought an Escalade. The bought it wrecked out of an auction place from FL, and brought it here and fixed it. he work's not perfect, but like I said, for a daily it's not bad at all. Seems to run fine, but it's got a squeak in the rear suspension like the sway bar bushings need to be lubed up or something. I'm thinking I want to get it over to a shop so I can look underneath it...make sure things are straight under there first.
