Soft top slashed help with new top install.?
Hey guys I got my roof slashed. So in order to turn lemons into lemonade I am gonna go for the ez-on grey stayfast cloth top with glass back window. I am trying to keep as much money from the insurance as possible so I was gonna plan on installing it myself. Have any of you done so(I have been reading the threads) just wondering local experience? If so would you be willing to help me if I can make a time and place that works for you perhaps other incentives as well(heh that was a lil dirty but wasn't meant to be).
I have a decent set of tools dunno about a rivet gun or glue if it is even needed.
Also I have an 01 silverstone, with the glass back window is it worth it to cough up the extra 66bucks for the defroster now and run the wires later?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as I am without a vehicle right now.

Alright cool thanks Joe. Well went to Weokie(lienholder) today and asked if I can just take photos of the car before during and after and they just sign the check over to me. The teller didn't know so she ended up calling someone, who said that I can either take it to a shop and bring them the receipt or I can fix it on my own and they would just apply the check to the balance on the car. I dunno if that is the final word b/c the teller didn't mention that it was a seat and roof install, not any body work. I called my loan officer and had to leave a message to find out for sure, but I don't see what the problem would be with me taking the car up there so that they can see it is fixed and then just releasing the check to me( I have higher interest loans that need this money more)
Any suggestions on this?

The only way they can make you apply the check to the loan balance is if you don't fix it. Fix the car, take it to your loan officer to inspect, and have them endorse the check. You are not required to have it fixed at a shop. Hope that helps.
