Default Spavinaw Run

Some of you missed out on a great drive Saturday. Found a new set of twisties, about 45 min. from Tulsa, on SH20/SH82 between Salina and Spavinaw. The run is approximately 14 miles long, but the best part with the most twisties is a section about 4 1/2 miles long just south of Spavinaw. Julie and I drove this section about 6 times and had a blast before it started to rain. We ended up driving back to Tulsa in a down pour.

Here is a map to the run.

Check out the two in car vids, the first one driving the 4 1/2 mile section north into Spavinaw and the other driving south out of Spavinaw.

North into Spavinaw
South out of Spavinaw

I want to do this again soon and because it's only 45 min away, it can be done in just over 2 hours, round trip. A little longer if we drive the twisty section more than once. Anyone interested?

It's no Mt Akina, but pretty good for Oklahoma

What's the speed limit, and how fast were you going?

typical back roads - with no shoulders - and lots of twisties!

NICE VIDS! Thanks for posting!

This is one of the better set of twisties that I have found in this part of OK, plus the road surface is in great condition, unlike most of the roads around here. The posted speed limit is 55. How fast was I going? Well... I can't say without incriminating myself. I'll just say I didn't do any drifting, at least this time.
