Default Talimena Run

Hey all,

I did my 'annual' Talimena Memorial Weekend Run this past weekend, and wanted to let y'all know of some of the conditions I found:

About a 4 mile stretch from the OK/AR border and west is covered in gravel!!! The East bound lane is the worse, and kinda comes up on you by surprise! I will NEVER understand the logic of the DOT in doing this, I know they want to slow people who drive the turns too fast on thos curves, but that's like what, 15% of all drivers, so they make the roads more dangerous for 100% of the drivers?? I was doing 50 and nearly lost the rear end, mind you, the speed limit was 55 at that point...."/rant".

The rest of the Run is in great shape...

The Lodge is closed, no food or parking, looks like the are renovating (good, it needed it). The snackbar down at the train loading is open, and has WONDERFUL icecream.....Mmmmm

The Indian Highway, north half, is in great shape, and was a pleasure to drive!

I have about 2 hours of footage that I need to edit down and will have up on Youtube someday...

Sorry I didn't yell out to see if anyone wanted to go, Memorial Day Weekend snuck up on me, and it was Friday when I say 'oh crap, guess im going'.

That sucks about the gravel! Good to know though. I'll have to try their ice cream next time I'm out there. Looking forward to watching your video!

What is the "indian highway" that you're referring to?

I did the drive a couple of weeks ago with my gf in her Accord and it was great fun as usual. Wish I would have been in my S2000 though!
