Default Tires

Has anyone replaced their Bridgestones with some other brand tire? If so, are you pleased with the results? What brand and where did you get them? Anyone know anything about Kumho tires? they are much cheaper than the Bridgestones, but i suspect the performance suffers significantly. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have Fuzion ZRis right now. I've had them since mid-February. I have no complaints as yet and they are certainly not bad for the price ($336.00 + $47.10 shipping from Tirerack + $83.55 mount/install at Firestone). Before these, I had the stock S02s on front and Yokohoma AVS ES100s on rear (car came like this). In comparison to this previous setup, the Fuzions are not as noisy, the ride is softer (but not too soft), better traction on wet roads, but they're plenty sticky on dry. FWIW, the Yokos only lasted me six months and I don't drive agressively (at least compared to most of the guys here).

Good luck in your search and if you have the OEM 16s and end up going with something other than S02s, have fun trying to determine the correct tire sizes! I went with 225/50R16 92W in front and 245/45R16 94W for the rear as suggested by Jim@Tirerack.

Clovis from the North Texas Club recently posted about a new tire from Hankook. Apparently they have even better performance then the S02s and run about $80 for the fronts and $90 for the rears. I'm going to pick up a set this month as my fronts are just about toast.

I was running short on cash one month and I bought some cheep Firestone tires. Believe it or not, the ride is smoother and softer. However, I would not attempt to even try to do any aggressive driving. As for the tire size, I also went up to 245s
