If i got some snow tires for winter would that be over kill?

i was thinking possibly snow tires for winter then summer tires. But the summer tires would have to do pretty good in the rain.

But if fk452 will do good in summer/rain/winter thats what i will do.

I had the Fuzion ZRi's for my 2001 S2k, and although I wouldn't get them again I had absolutely no problem driving year-round.

If you absolutely HAVE to go in the snow, your foot needs to be quite the feather.

With my new S2K coming I might be in the market for some new tread as well... hmmm -- anyone know if the Kumho MX's are better than the FK452's?

I don't have anything to add other than watch out for black ice. The recommended in this thread tires sound good. I drove well over 50k on several sets of Fuzion ZRi's at low cost, but now have a set of Toyo Proxys - not winter tested yet.

FYI-

Bridgestone Potenza = excellent summer tire, but horrible winter tire:

Oh. Sorry. Forgot to say the MY03 AP1 was totaled due to this mishap. That's why I now drive the MY02 AP1 replacement

I thought I would share a couple of comments on the Yoko's so far.

I have a special corner where I push the S a little hard and have always been able to get a little slide with the Bridgestones. Some at 10k miles, and much more so at 20k miles. I hit the corner last night and got nothing, the tires didn't break loose, and stuck in the corner like the car never has before. So handling seems to be better.

In addition we are sitting here on the couch and the Boss just looked at me and said " I LOVE my new tires!!!".

For nearly a grand they better be some damn good tires lol.

Also i need good rain traction and winter. I could get 2 sets so for sure rain and winter would be a bonus. But its going to be a dd and essentially my only car.
