Default torque steer in 2007 S2000

Our car has about 6000 pretty pampered miles, never curbed the tires, never abused.

I noticed about a month ago that the car pulls to the right if you push on the throttle. For instance, on a perfectly flat highway, cruising at 55 mph, the car tracks nice and straight. But if you push the throttle down, it immediately veers off to the right.

If you accelerate through the gear changes, you can also feel it jerk to the left as soon as the throttle is lifted and the clutch depressed. As soon as you continue the acceleration, it resumes the pulling to the right.

I know this isn't right, as the car should have no torque steer at all. (It did not have this until recently and may be getting worse).

Has anyone else had this?

I am going to set up a service call to get it fixed, but would like to be able to clue in the service department before I put it in for service.

Richard

Check you tire pressure. I bet that will fix your issues.

yep, rr was down in the 10-15 range. Makes perfect sense. These low profile tires make that hard to spot.

Thanks, will post update after tires reinflated all the way around. (pressure in the other 3 was in the 27-28 psi range). I am going to put 35 in them.

Might check that right rear tire for nails and such.
