Default 2-day drive option

Ira and I were discussing one of the summer events being a 2-day drive to *somewhere*

He suggested whitewater rafting in Bend. We did it a couple of years ago and everyone really enjoyed it a LOT.
I suggested revisiting the Oregon Caves which we havent done in many years.

So we decided to put it to a vote to see what you wanted to do.

A few pros/cons of each from our own point of view:

Caves - Rooms = $100-$150 (2-bed suites can be had for $185 if people want to split) + Dinner & Breakfast @ The Chateau = $50-70 for a couple + $8.50/person for the cave tour:
Total cost = Upwards of $240 not including gas or other meal stops
Less expensive as a whole
Longer trip/more driving
Road to the Chateau is TREMENDOUS to drive
Can/Will include driving time down to/through the redwoods

Whitewater - Hotel = $100-150 + Whitewater Trip = $49.00/person + Dinner & Breakfast = $50-70ish/couple
Total cost $270-$320+ not including gas and other meals
Overall more expensive
Less "fun roads"
1h15m Whitewater trip with class 3 rapids on the "Big Eddy" tour
More scenic and more social time

So what do you prefer?
Let us know so we can start making preparations.

BRUTAL choice.

That road to the caves is some of the best asphalt ever laid down. But rafting is a hoot and Bend is a great place to tack on a day before/after....

Though I like some nice roads, the rafting would be a great reason for ME to attend a two day drive

I choose the Oregon caves, partly because it's close to me being down in Medford.

The drive down here is definitely much better!

I've been rafting before so that's my reasoning behind choosing the caves. Never been there but have always wanted to go
