Definitely good times yesterday. Looking forward to next months run with the intermediate group. I have come to a conclusion that the stock ap2 rear pads are not cutting it. Thinking the hawk HP+ for rears to go with the hawk blues front. I rather not want to buy a whole set of rear rotors for something aggressive in the back. Any inputs?

You won't need something crazy aggressive in the back since your fronts are doing most of the stopping.

Many of us found in the early days of tracking S2000's that overheating of the front brakes showed itself in excessive rear pad wear... turns out that as the fronts became less effective more load was on the rear brakes and the smaller size showed the issue quickly.

In every case adding cooling vents to the front brakes solved the problem so not only was braking more consistent but the pad wear on all four corners was more equal.

I have an AP1 with the front vents cut and duct work to the back of the rotor shields feed air to the interior of the rotors. Very effective on the track but of course a waste of time on the street. The only caution I can offer is to screen the air intake to avoid a build up of leaves if you drive the car on the street.

From my point of view venting the front brakes is manatory for extensive track use... and OEM pads are not suited for track work... you need track pads.

Good to know. I know the rear pads and rotors are very glazed and blue. I'll try to work something out to get air ducts for the front brakes. I notice when i get stuck behind a slow group of cars, i slow it down a bit to cool the brakes and the next time i stomp on them, there is a huge difference in bite.

I just ordered my parts do do my brake ducting. I think I should be out there on the 4th....

I might take pics as I do my brake job, but there are alot of DIY's already, we will see how lazy I am!
