Brian,

350Zs are very nice cars, I have a few friends with them, and I have driven it a few times myself.

You are basically dead on with your observations. Great handling car, with a very nice low end power. Interior feels cheap for the price you pay (compliant from the owners themselves) .

Personally I feel the their shifter needed to be better placed, seems a bit far from the steering wheel. I do like the tire pressure gauge though.

Also, you might want to double check the 350z forums, because I remember transmission problems being reported for the first and second year, so might want to stay clear of those years.

Do you know where the best forum is? I found 3 forums and all seem to have very few members/posts...

Hmmm. The only 350Z link I had don't even link anymore. I'd recommend to go to Nissan forums and start from there.

When I was purchasing my S the only other car I was really considering was the 350Z. I test drove both back to back and of course they are different animals. I did like the 350Z but like Brian said, watch out for some of the earlier models as they do have tranny problems.

I personally felt "apart" from the 350Z when driving it. It felt a little big and clumbsy but that was after driving the S. The power down low is very nice and the exhaust note is sex

If I were you I would try to look into a G35 instead. I think it is a little further away form the S so you will get more of a variety. Just my .02$

Brian- You have PM

Talk to SeattleJason in the NW Forum. He sold his 350Z Track to get his S and he's never been happier it seems.

i really like the 350z. its a great car, i'd look at 05's. the get the revup motor but none of the weight that got added to the 06+.

BUT----they are no where as fun to drive as the s2. not even in the ballpark.
