Default Broken sway bar link

Talked to a couple of you on the last drive about the zero clearance between my sway bar and steering rod, we decided it was bad mix. Well the linkage broke! Can anyone identify the sway bar? The question is will an ap2 sway bar fit on the ap1? Spoke with the local Honda parts department and they said it was a different diameter and if I replace the bushing it will work. On a budget and about to buy a used part off ebay, unless some one has one for sale locally? Comments or suggestions?

Notice the bare metal where the steering rod has rubbed the paint off.

Theres a lot of washers stacked on the bolt from the end link to the swaybar... fitment should be much better than that

I agree, nothing seems right about this swaybar. Ordering a used oem unit tomorrow.

If you get a AP2 sway bar it will be smaller then the stock for your ap1, yours is an 00/01 right?

THe AP2 sway should fit but will increase the cars tendency to oversteer in a bad way

Good luck finding a replacement

If yours is an 00/01 like I it is, a CR front sway bar is the same size, if you can find one

If you can wait a little while I'd reccomend upgrading to something bigger while the car is down. Many of us have upgraded to a bigger FSB especially AP1 owners as it tends to make the car behave more predictably.

*edit*
I have a Cusco 32mm FSB, I it.

I am going to stick it out and go with the swift sway bar.

I put the sway bar up to the rear one and it looked like it was several inches wider, I still think it is just a poorly/early designed unit.

Thanks for all the info, if anybody has a use for this sway bar let me know.

From the sound of it you have the front one installed on the rear and the rear was on the front. Is the rear still stock?

The rear is the silver comptech, I agree that the shape is very similar to the rear. The points where the bushings attach to the bar and the frame are several inches wider on the blue unit pictured above.

Just ordered the swift swaybar!

Swift bar installed, super high quality. Ride is excellent and steering feels great!

And you were right John, totally a rear sway bar! Does anyone have a picture of an actual rear Cusco bar? I would like to identify the one that was installed improperly on my car. Mine has welded on rings to hold the bushings.
