This mod will potentially bring up problems if you ever need your warranty for clutch work at the dealership.

true, the bigger issue would be if you blew your diff in warranty with this mod done... you'd be SOL

nonetheless I performed the mod anyways. As I HATED the feeling in the upper rpms that the cdv gave, just felt like it dumbed down the car.

Honda has some pretty savvy automotive engineers.

They must have put the delay in there for a reason. Before I change something that someone smarter than me has engineered, I would want to know why they did it and the implications of changing it.

Yes, they are very savvy, in fact every one of their ceo's has worked their way up through the ranks as an engineer. They know their stuff. But the diff on the S2000 is a weakness, and instead of -fixing- it, they decided it was more cost effective to remove the ability to shock it, thus adding the delay valve in '04...

Honda may be great, but they are not flawless, and I think that this was a major mistake on the S2k, they should have overengineered the diff like everything else, not dumb down the driveline so it makes the shortcomings of the diff less of an issue. It just doesn't make sense...

Instead of fixing the issue, they just softened the car up (some more) so there was nothing to be fixed anymore...

The delay valve has nothing to do with the clutch itself, it is in the slave cylinder. it just changes how fast the slave cylinder can let the pressure plate grab the clutch disc.
