Just thought I'd start another thread to organize the PDX folks ... I'm guessing we'll all meet somewhere local and then head out ...

Chime in if you're in ..

I think we all went through a tank of gas on the last one.

According to Expedia.com, it's ~150 miles each way. I'm not sure if that's the direct route we took last time or not.

Let me tell you this - the drive up to the observatory is about 75 miles of smooth pavement, tight corners, and unbelievable scenery. It is by far the best / most exciting drive that I went on last year. I think there are still indentations on my steering wheel from holding on for dear life for 60+ minutes (**note - we had two groups, one in front tearing ASS, and a group behind that was aggressive, yet sensible).

The only real downfall is that it takes almost a full day to complete the trip (and that I got the CRAP sunburned out of my face / head )
