Going to the Track Tomorrow!
Anyone else making to the BMW HPDE @ PIR tomorrow?
I have been frantically putting my car together so I can use my s2 for the event. Long story short, I now have 2 pole positions, and just picked up a sparco 6 point harness!
Also, I bought a F1spec rail for my passenger side and its a buddyclub knock off, and all I will say is I am glad its not the drivers side. I am sure its sound, but the paint has chipped/flaked off anywhere I tightened a bolt, and the welds are ok, not great. For an extra $30 I should have ordered another buddyclub rail.

Heres a couple action shots... I am trying to figure out how to upload a video, never done it before...
To say I had a blast would be an under statement! It was F***ing awesome!! I started the day as a novice and in the afternoon session they bumped me up to intermediate. The S was pretty dominate out there with only one e46 m3 that was supposedly stock with track pads and tires giving me a run for my money. I was amazed at how balanced and quick this car is around the track. I need to work on my heel toe coming off the front straight as its a 5th gear to 2nd gear (115mph to 30mph) turn with the chicane in. Practice will help me there.
The only other area I had a bit of trouble with was finding the best line on turn 6. I always seemed to have a lot of over steer and broke the rear end loose frequently on the turn. Better technique and possibly a wing would be beneficial for this turn.
Met one guy with an S that was just there to watch. I was the only honda out there besides Eddie with AR Racing who had his race Civic SI out there for a couple sessions.
Hope to get out again and hope to see some other S's out there to see how my car stacks up against another S.
Also, want to thank John @ Forged for helping me get my suspension dialed in and my fenders rolled. He met up with me after hours so I could have the car ready for my track day! Thanks John

As for Turn 6, stay about 1/2 to 3/4 a car width on driver right for the entry, turn into the apex and unwind slowly and use all the room on the exit (should be plenty of room on the exit of 6), you should be full throttle before the apex and with minor steering input and a little throttle steer to correct for minor oversteer (regardless if you have a wing or not), the key to turn 6 is unwind (don't force the car, let the momentum take you to where you want to go), another section where you can make up time is Turn 10, 11, and 12...turn 10 without a wing you can easily fly through it at low to mid 80s mph, with a wing my datalogger record somewhere between high 80s to low 90s on the apex of 10..
I hope this help
