Yeah I like the oem ones better, but they are discontinued so its so hard to locate an oem one now... so sad....
Yes they are and you are looking at the wrong time. The HT's tend to be up for sale in the Fall and Spring.

If you are in no hurry keep your eyes open in the For Sale section. The lowest price I have ever seen on an OEM is 1300 with hardwear, but it was in Suzuka. The rare colors do not make the HT more valuable as a guy with a Spa found out last week, it actually makes them harder to sell. Black and Silver tend to be the easiest to find, and remember if you don't like the color, it can always be painted.

Honestly, I think the S2000 looks awesome with any style of HT out on the market. OEM is more function with the rear defrost, and more visibility out the back. Where as most aftermarket tops selling points are focused on weight savings as well as a slightly better aerodynamic than the Softtop or OEM hardtop, but not really by that much.

IMO, the best Hardtop anyone can buy is the one with the best price, with good hardware, and good fitment. Good luck!

Yeah lol =) I was thinking to get a black mugen or oem one... I think I am going to pass on the shine hardtop, it would be too much hassle to get into my trunk.

There is a gpw mugen hardtop in the sales, but he doesn't want to ship it to me =( pretty good price for 1700 with hardware.

lol, I saw that one. Too bad VA is a bit too far to drive too.

I'd say anywhere within 500 miles is worth the drive, just make a fun road trip out of it.

But yeah, I wouldn't sell or buy a hardtop shipped. Most people will not be able to ship it properly and it just end up getting damaged. Just not worth the risk.

Personally I think the Honda top is the best, color matched to your car. But there's a lot to be said for a bargain and several people int he Oregon group have gotten really great deals.

The biggest thing to consider when getting a hard top is where you're going to put it when it's not on the car. We can help with that too.
So he says...

Actually, I bought the hardtop for Paul. It was his Christmas present a year and a half ago. I walked into the local Honda dealership like a big girl and placed my order. It arrived a week or so later so I drove to the Honda dealership in this little truck. The hardtop was in a gigantic cardboard box which two poor guys loaded into the truck. (BTW, it didn't really fit so half of the box was outside of the truck.)

I took it home and put a huge red bow around the box. The rest of the story is true.
