Default hello from SE hillsboro

hi there. i'm new to the site, having been on the site october2013, and don't know my way around (and incidentally, don't know how i earned that 'warning status' lol). i'd appreciate information on any s2k expert mechanic/part-time mechanic in the hillsboro area, whom i can depend on for help with any problem i might have with my S. i sincerely feel the S is best-and-brightest by design, and i can relate to each and every post in the site by those of us who feel the same way, that driving (as well as merely looking at) the S is a special experience. i am 66 and male, and an avid s2k fan!

Welcome aboard

We have quite a few members in the Hillsboro/beaverton area. The activity is generally low in the winter months, but hopefully some guys will chime in on some good spots over there. Tony? Hiep? Brian?

Hello!

I am often in Hillsboro on the weekends, was it you last night going down 185th northbound towards West Union?

I'll let individual owners chime in for mechanics, (there is one with some arm muscles like popeye whom is very helpful) but for shops I use AR Auto Service in Lake Oswego; Eddie the owner is quite an S2000 enthusiast and is incredibly knowledgeable. Plus they work on some rather fancy cars and race cars. They are expensive, but it's worth it.

welcome

I'm over in the beaverton/hillsboro side of town, however, i generally do my work myself so i don't have a specific mechanic to recommend.

on the Hillsboro side, you have Portland Speed Industries (PSI), and other shops like Trackforged if you are willing to make the commute.

Good luck, and hope to see you around.

Welcome to the boards! It is nice to see some s2000 owners out here in Hillsboro. We have two garage queen s2000's at my house but I'm sure you'll see us driving around town when the weather gets nicer. What year and color S do you have?

thanks for the info...if it was a silverstone AP1 it was probably me, as i drive my S in that area. for that matter i drive it as conservatively as i could, since i've noticed some cops are peeved by it. just the other night i got pulled over for "not having a front plate," and so i promised i'll install the plate. the exhaust is incredibly loud tho, particularly at WOT, and i'll have to add a silencer to what looks like a skunk2 exhaust that came with the S. it's such a streetable track car, with tein i-inch lowering spings. i may have to reduce the rear camber and toe-in (until i decide to track it), as the car has significant roll resistance. all in all the S simply is simply best and brightest.

i'm a diy guy too, but i know little of the S apart from what my service manual tells me. trolling the boards tells me tho, that everyone in the S2ki community practically is an expert on the s2k!
