Default Help with a noise....

Hey everyone. Ever since I bought my car, when I go around curves, there is something behind my seat and inside of the convertible top motor area that flies from one side of the car to the other. Is there anyway to get inside of that area to look and see what it is without taking the convertible top off?

(It's on that tray below the rear window and its not behind the seat, its actually down inside the motor area that I can't see how to get to..)

Thanks for your help!

go in your trunk and remove the panels to get into that area, or remove the tray by removing the pushpins. good luck

Thanks for the quick reply, I have removed all the paneling in the trunk but I coudln't get to where I thought the noise was from. Forgive me for not knowing, but what tray are you talking about? Do you mean the one behind the seats? I didn't know that could come out.

yes that tray comes out, but it is kinda a pain in the butt, just ask Even.

Your car is an 07, it is still under warranty, take it to the dealer and let them search for it.

Are you sure it's not the spare tire bolt? Mine has come loose before and rattles something fierce. You can either get to it from the trunk or from inside the cockpit with the top up.

No it's not a bolt. It's not a metal sound, its a hard plastic sound. I didn't know you could use the warranty to search for noises. That's a good idea though, I will give them a call this week and try and get it figured out. It sounds like those hard plastic for sale signs sliding back and forth down there somewhere.

The spare tire bolt has a large plastic nut that you tighten by hand.

Oh yeah, actually my Acura spend many days at Ron Tonkin for rattles.... part of the reason I got rid of it. Their fix was to lower the air pressure in the tires.

If they say they don't want to search for it, tell them you have serious concerns for the safety of yourself and others on the road since you are not sure if the sound is comming from something that may cause an accident.
Lol, Okay I'll do that. I'm down in Corvallis and I'll probably have the local dealer do it. I've heard Dick Hannah and Ron Tonkin aren't the best at customer service issues. I am 100% sure it's not the spare tire bolt because....I don't have one. Lol. Picking one up in Wilsonville this weekend.
