Default How much should I pay?

I just purchased some Tein S.Tech lowering springs for my car and I was wondering how much I should expect to pay (roughyl) to have them installed. I can't remember what I paid to have my springs installed on my S2000, but one of the senior techs at Lexus of Tacoma (where I work) said he'd install them and do an alignment for $250. Thanks for your input!

Hey David, I don't think that's too much since you're getting it installed and aligned. I would think it would be cost more then the S since it is a BMW. But what do I know.

in Socal the average is about $120 or so..I'd wait till the springs settle before getting it aligned.

I paid $130 to get my coilovers installed here in Vegas.

It's really, honestly, not that hard to do if you have a garage, jack and a couple sockets... otherwise I wouldn't pay over $150.... it will only take someone with a lift and power tools maybe 45-60 minutes to install.

I say do it yourself if you have a garage or a friend that has one you can use. Otherwise no more then $150 and like everyone else said, wait for the springs to settle before getting the alignment

What kind of drop do those give you?

1.1" in the front and 1.06" in the rear, nothing major. IMO it's a perfect drop. Here are some pix of them installed on a 330 sedan ...

That's a nice drop. Will the ride quality change?

David:

I am interested in these springs. How would these affect the ride of the S? Will these affect the stock shocks?

Thanks,

Abhi

I don't know about the Tein and how they are for the S but IMO the myth that lowering springs ruin your shocks is not true.

Obviously if you dump your car like 3 inches it will probably be a little harder on the stock shocks but the amount you lower the S is not going to be a huge factor.

I am running the Espelir springs on stock shocks and they are just fine. I have had the springs for about 7-8 months now. The ride quality was not changed from stock with these springs much at all. It is a little stiffer but not much.
