Have you tried just installing a K&N filter in the OEM intake box? Some folks over in the JDM Tuning forum have expended stunning amounts of time into the task of trying out every NA tweak known to man and found that the OEM box and a K&N air filter performed as well or better than any vendor's CAI kit. They refused to consider anyone's claims that couldn't be documented with a dyno chart that included a before and after as well as the dyno specs and credentials.

Official NA tuning thread

Plowing through the entire thread is pretty much like reading War and Peace, but they leave almost no stone unturned in their quest for a few more HP at the wheel.

The nice part about their conclusion for intake is that it's an easy and cheap mod.

I'm thinking between the two also. But comptech doesn't have a model out for the 06 yet so I'm leaning towards the KN. Plus I'm getting my taxes back soon so I'll be ordering my t1r 70mm sparrow.

I am running the Injen CAI. Not a bad little CAI.

I am running the AEM V2. I have been really happy with it. Out of those two I would go Comptech though

Just wondering. Any cutting required with the AEM unit? I remember when I had my 2000 Prelude that I had cut a hole bigger. Does S2 need this done?

Nope!

No cutting for the AEM intake on the S. All you have to do is remove the 4 ton stock airbox

Just curious, but have you heard this exhaust in person? It is pretty loud and it drones on the highway. I really like the exhaust note it produces but not the volume. Also, are you going to use this exaust with your AP2 rear bumper?

I have the AEM V2 as well. Came on the car when I bought it. Works for me.
