Default Kids and Pets

I don't want this to come across as any kind of disgruntledness toward our youngest guest this past weekend - I am honestly hoping to clarify a few things for myself and other members.

Once upon a time I swear I read in the rules that children and pets were not permitted on our 'official' group drives. Apparently I wasn't the only one, as there has been a little bit of discussion on the side. I even remember talking about it several months ago. But now I can't find that ANYWHERE. Also, Larry had no idea what I was talking about when I brought it up and claims there is no such rule. So ...

A) That rule does not exist, for those of you who had previously thought it did.
II) Am I crazy? Where did I, and several others read that?
3) I'm bringing my cat next time.

I don't remember any such rule either, even from before I was a C.O.

Otherwise I might not have brought my friend Neil to those couple of drives...he's just a big kid anyway

So...II...you're crazy

Maybe it was something in the PacNW section?
Something leftover from way before Larry's or my time?

Are you still drinking ROOT beer Paul?

We've never had any such rule for any of our drives or events - even from before my term at CO (of course we also never had any drives!).

Kids - OK!

Pets - OK!

Now the state DOES have some rules about when a child can legally sit in the front seat, but as long as that is observed - they are good to go!

I don't remember either way, but did think kids and pets were not allowed, probably due to the faul language we use at times.

Well, MOST pets wouldn't be put off by foul language.

Besides, I think we keep it pretty clean!

First let me state the obvious, I never knew of a 'limitation' to kids going.

Second, I called Larry the night before and made him aware of my plans and he said there was no problem (or something close to that, my memory is fading), he just reminded me to call Tolly's and get his lunch order in.

Last, due to a family emergency, if he didn't go with me, then I wouldn't have been able to go. Since I was already past the cancel date, I would have lost the money on the room, and that wasn't going to happen.

Believe it or not, everyone was well mannered, even if he wasn't around. Besides, his vocabulary puts me to shame sometimes. Kids these days learn so much in public schools!

If there is truly a problem with him, or any other kids going, lets work through this so that we all know what the expectations are. If we as a group decide that it is better if kids (and what age do we set as a limit) don't go, then I am fine with that. We just need to clarify it so we can all abide by the request of the group. Obiviously something like the Kasino Kruz would be an obvious no-go for kids, and the impromptu drives can have the decision left up to the organizer of that drive.
