Default Leather Treatment

I was told to use hand lotion to treat my leather seats....is that true? It would be cheap! Has anyone tried using hand lotion?

I would not use hand lotion. The perfumes/oils they use to make them smell nice could stain the leather. It *might* work, but I wouldn't be willing to do it

The thing with leather is, you need to clean it, condition it AND protect it. Hand lotion doesnt really do any of that except maybe condition a little....

Meguiars stuff is decent

Lexol makes really nice over-the-counter products that aren't too expensive. The trio of cleaner/conditioner/protectant should cost you less than $30 and last you a LONG time.

I used to use Lexol as my go-to product because it was good and readily available.

NOW, however, I've switched to Leather Masters products from the S2ki detailing sponser, Detailer's Domain. I am VERY happy with it. It softens the leather nicely, cleans it very well and leaves it feeling very nice. That says a lot because my seats are beat to hell (well used/worn). It's a bit more expensive, but well worth it, in my opinion.

Phil at Detailer's Domain also gives S2ki users a 10% coupon, just for being part of S2ki, so that's always nice

The leather shop that did all the work for Rick's does not recommend any treatment on fine leather. The suggestion is to use a damp cloth to dust and for the rere need to deep clean use Lexol cleaner diluted with distilled water.

I only use lexol cleaner and will not use any 'treatment' as it makes the seats slippery which I hate.

I have been using Lexol for quite a few years and seats look great, w/o that slippery finish.

I just rub my butt in it more to keep it looking steller, granted you're clean =). That has been the cheapest way for me.
