Default Locked Trunk?

Emergency, need help! I replaced my trunk with a carbon fiber trunk, bolted the trunk latch on, bolted to the hinge, and shut the trunk to align. Didn't realize that I forgot tohook the wire to the trunk latch. Now the trunk is locked, the remote does not work and the trunk release and the console does not work. ..... The question is, is there another way to get into the trunk to pull the release swtich from inside???...Please respond if anyone has experienced this situation or knows a way to get to the inside of the trunk from the front.

Thanks

Mike

wow, there was a thread exactly like this awhile ago. Same exact deal, the guy was test-fitting the trunk and shut it before he had connected the wires. I don't know what the outcome of that was though.

you can remove the plastic "shelf" panel behind the roll hoops (same as you would to access your fuel pump) but I don't know if you'd have enough room or long enough arms to reach the latch even with that removed.

I just looked at it on my car - you'd need serious dexterity and a long rigid stick to reach the internal release. Even then I don't know that you could push on it hard enough to make it operate.

That really sucks. But it's good to know they're hard to break in to

Mike, did a quick search; here are a couple of things people did. Sounds like it's gonna be a pain. Good luck.

i couldn't reach the trunk release button so i had to stick my arm and and remove the bolts that held down the trunk (2 bolts on each side). i used a 10mm socket. it was real dark and took me forever to do...

we took of the panels behind the headrests to get in the trunk and climbed half way in there and plugged it back in what a PITA!

here's the thread I was thinking of, try the same thing as he did (he was able to reach the latch with a jack handle):
