Moving to Oregon
It is offical we are moving to Oregon from Ohio. I have a few questions. My wife is working in wine country southwest of Portland where are good places to look for a house? I have a 04 S2000, 05 Jeep Wrangler 06 VW Passat the last two are stock however the S2000 has some mods, exhaust and airfilter how strict are they on emissions tests, will I have any problems? Are there some good shops in the Portland area to have work done on the S2K? Do you have to have a front plate in Oregon? What happens if you don't? Any other info would be welcome.

Not sure of places to look. But there are alot of good places around to get mods done. There's a few people around portland who are really good with messing with S'. Forget his name but some people have had work done from him and he's suppose to be one of the best around town.
Hi Steve,
Welcome to Oregon!
As far as your mods go, it will depend on what you have. If you live in the tri-county Portland metro area, you will have to go through DEQ to get licensed. If your intake is CARB approved you are porbably OK. They do check the loudness of the exhaust. What do you have?
I just got a $97 ticket for not having a front plate. I got away with it for 1-1/2 year before I was cited.
Again, welcome! Post a picture of your car and your information in the sticky at the top of the main PDX page.

Congrats on the move, are you looking for a home in the wine country area? Durham and Newberg are starting to expand with new home sub-divisions all over the place. If you want to be closer to the 'city' then Sherwood is a good place. I live in Tualatin and love it.
