Default New rims?

Thinking about new rims for my 2000 OEM 16" stock rims. I have always liked the newer spoked rims.

Found someone in Portland selling his 2007 stock 17" rims with Potenza wheels on them for $999 . Seems pretty high to me.

Any opinions or suggestions??

Here's the post from Craigs list:

I dont know, $999 doesnt seem all that high to me personally. I've seen replica AP2v1 wheels going for ~650 bucks new, and that doesnt even include tires. What does a set of stock tires run?

2007 Honda S2000 Wheels

Bridgestone Potenza RE050 (Original Eqiupment)

Assuming those have less than 500 miles on them, you're looking at $780 in wheels, $760 in tires, and another $100 to $200 in mounting fees.

Thousand bucks? Hell yeah dude!

But I just read the description.

They have about 95% tread in the front and 85% in the rears. Comes with OEM lug nuts and center caps. Approx. 9k miles on all four.
Errummm ... I don't know how 85% tread is left on a tire that's been driven 35% of its expected mileage, but I still think it's a good deal. Just not as good as before I read the mileage.

The thing is, I don't know that these wheels are particularly popular, so he likely won't get many hits. You might be able to low-ball him and score a bigger deal. He might take $850. It's worth talking to the guy, at any rate. Wheels that you're looking for by a local guy - hard to beat.

Yeah, just doing more research on the whole thing. Doesn't seem too out of line. Thanks for the links! Just what I was looking for. Might have to give this guy a call. I don't think they are too popular. He's had them on craig's list for a little while now.

Thanks for the input.

Yeah, that is a pretty good deal but about $800-850 is more in line with how much tread is left.

There is no way RE050's with 9k miles on them still have 85% tread left. My original RE050's only lasted me about 23,000 miles.

I do like those rims too. They give the S a little more of a classy look. The AP2v1 wheels are a little more aggressive.
