Default PIR improvement plans

Last I heard was that they will repave the track and lengthen it to just over 2 miles, but this sum it all up...i guess missing 2 months of the track season at PIR this year wouldn't be so bad afterall

PIR improvement

Can't wait to try out the new inner loop...

Last I heard there was a petition going around to keep the track open and now they're renovating it? Was I thinking of a different track??

Yeah I remember that petition as well. It was rumored they were going to close PIR because people were buying houses near the track and then complaining about the noise

Yea why the heck would you move next to a racetrack and then complain about the noise?!?! My friend in Cali lives about 10 minutes away from Laguna Seca and she says she can frequently hear cars and stuff racing there; I sure wouldn't complain about that!!

No kidding, I think that would be music to my ears personally. I would probably just be sitting there half the time listening to it with my TV turned off.

Laguna Seca has a very strict rule on sound....the Laguna Seca sound police monitor the sound very strictly. A lot of track days over there have a sound limit of 89-95 dB (mostly 92 dB) depending on the day and they take reading from 50 feet away! (as far as I know most PIR track days are 105 dB sounds limit). For them basically one warning then 2nd time you are done for the day

I'm sure they have a few racing events where they have less strict rule...even the Skip Barber formula cars installed muffler for the Laguna Seca events.
