Default PIR noise limits

After doing my first track day last year I am completely hooked and I am excited to do 3-4 this year at Portland. Has anyone who has ran there had problems with being black flagged for noise? If I remember right the limits for the Monday track days with the BMW club are really low. Last year my only engine mod was a K&N intake, but before the season starts this year I want to add a Berk HFC and most likely a HKS 75mm single, along with a full tune.

I don't do a ton of street driving anymore so I am not super worried about it being too loud for me, I just want to be able to lower VTEC and pick up a good amount of mid range, but not at the expense of possibly not being able to use it at the track. I am also considering the T1-R 70r single, as it is supposed to be fairly quiet for a single, but it is 70mm vs 75mm for the HKS, and about 300-400 dollars more. I am open to other exhaust suggestions as well, I was mostly drawn to the HKS for the size and the price. Thanks Everyone

I've been close, I think it's 93dbs max. Couple s2's have Ben flagged and either had to switch exhausts or stay off the gas on the 1st half of the front straight. (Where the mic is). I have test pipe, gt spec single and full hondata tune, but have never been black flagged. And I have done quite a few bmw Mondays.

I know an owner that solved his noise problem at Laguna Seca by adding an (ugly) elbow at the exhaust outlet to direct sound waves in a direction away from the sound sensor. No other changes but no more black flags.

I want to say the max is either 93 or 95 on Monday and Tuesdays are higher. I have yet to be flagged in the last few years and my exhaust is loud! And I have never let off the gas by the Mics. I know Anthony and chun got flagged last year in our runs as they were over 100+ db . mods that I have are k&n intake, top speed headers, test pipe, invidia Q 300 with silencers, and Hondata flashpro. Maybe we'll see you out there in a few months?

I am definitely going to be out there this season. The T1-R 70r single seems to be really quiet, plus it is already somewhat turned down towards the ground. Might go with that just to play it safe. Thanks everyone.

I do the chump car races at pir. At least 3/4 of the sixty or so cars are straightpiped. Never hear of one getting a noise violation.

I had the T1R 70RT on for a few track days, didn't have any problems with noise. But with my current GT Motoring 75mm, its another story. Have to use a turn away, and an extra muffler.

Hope you see you out there this year.
